and they're back

after a series of less than spectacular sales, and some pretty horrendous faux leather and plaid furniture, One Kings Lane is finally back! Tonight's sale with items from Lauren Copin left me drooling.

The things I could do with this chest...

Ledoux is one of my favorite architects...

I could never have enough sketches of Antinous...

Love, love, and love...

This frame is pretty amazing...

I think it's safe to say I could house almost all of these objects... well I could maybe do without some of the females nudes.

Biggs Powell on One Kings Lane

Biggs Powell, who recently opened a store on King Street in Charleston, had a fantastic sale on One Kings Lane that opened yesterday. His store, located in one of my favorite buildings on lower King, is a jewel box of unique antiques, reproductions, and contemporary pieces.

I love this 19th century hall chair... it's so modern in its severity and geometric shape

A pair of fantastic vintage French lamps...

Obviously obsessed with this vintage eglomise mirror...

These are so incredibly beautiful... I've been in love them for a while

And finally, my favorite piece from the entire sale...

These gilt and painted grotto brackets are quite possibly some of the most unique things I've ever encountered. If only I had an extra $3,000 lying around...

from his website you can visit his listings on 1stDibs

Muffie Faith on One Kings Lane

One of my favorite Charleston interior designers and style purveyor is currently featured on One Kings Lane with a Taste-maker Tag Sale... her interiors are sophisticated, eclectic, and somewhat whimsical...

The dining room of her Mt. Pleasant Old Village home...

The living room of her home... I saved this image when her home was published a few years back and am still completely obsessed the art deco bergeres, the caned sofa, and those unreal porcelain phoenix lamps and their fringed shades...

Dying for this chair...
and now on to my top three pics from the sale...

I need these.
Plain and simple.

Oh this table...
We lusted after this one a few months back at a warehouse sale a few designers put together, and here it is again... if only our antebellum kitchen house would sprout an extra room...

I marveled at this brass and glass coffee table at a friend's art show that was at Muffie's fantastic boutique home store ESD a few weeks ago...

Something I Need

Victorian Hearse Drapery Panels
from Suzan Fellman's One Kings Lane Tastemaker Tag Sale

My faith is revived.

Ok, so after being slightly disenchanted with the One Kings Lane Tastemaker Tag Sales, my faith is revived by the items Grant K. Gibson and Gabriella Sarlo have offered for sale. If these are the pieces that their clients aren't using, I want to see what is actually getting placed in these homes...

I love the way these plaster intaglios are framed asymmetrically...
definitely plan on using this idea in the future...

how can these Louis XVI style chairs with grass green upholstery not make you smile?

... and I've always had a thing for plaster casts of feet.

also, loving anything lacquered,
I don't know that a finish could get more glamorous...

I'm 99% sure this is my favorite piece of the sale...
I especially love the deterioration to the mirror

If I had my way, I would have a room that was just filled with useless architectural fragments... maybe even one wall just dedicated to cast iron acanthus leaves.

Tony Duquette at One Kings Lane

Today's One Kings Lane Tastemaker Tag Sale featured Tony Duquette designs as curated by current creative director Hutton Wilkinson... some items were even from Duquette's estate Dawnridge... and incredibly opportunity to own a piece that actually belonged to this legendary designer... these are some of my favorites...

Louis Philippe tables with original Tony Duquette malachite-painted finish- so over the top, so amazing, so Duquette...

A screen made of a pen and ink drawing of Venice by Tony Duquette that he did in 1947; the screen was made in the 1990s. There were three of these in the sale and I'm completely obsessed with them- so dramatic...

A Louis XV style yellow, Chinoiserie desk by Baker... I love the color and lines...

A Victorian lacquered and papier-mache Gondola chair with mother of pearl inlay... again, so ridiculous and over the top that you have to love it...

Good job, One Kings Lane. I'm not quite sure you can trump this one.

Lynn Goldfinger-Abram

Tonight's One Kings Lane Tastemaker Tag Sale looked less than appealing when I first checked out the designer's websites... but once I was able to look through Lynn Goldfinger-Abram's selection, which included a number of amazing vintage portraits and antique hotel silver, I definitely saw a few pieces I could live with...

These vintage chairs are absolutely phenomenal... I love the finish...

This vintage lion paw cocktail table is so unique... I love the shape, but I could definitely see it with a more dramatic finish... either all gilt, or lacquered black...

... and though they're not too practical, I'd definitely love to have a collection of these antique fountain pens for my desk...

Blackman Cruz

One of my favorite things to do is to browse through the One Kings Lane Tastemaker Tag Sales. Periodically I'll find one or two things I really like, but today I've found a few things I don't think I can live without, and I've been introduced to a new retailer I'm obsessed with: Blackman Cruz. Get ready to be amazed... and really prepare yourself for the third image... I still haven't recovered.
