My last day

With the impending move to New York (the adventure begins November 6th, stay tuned!) this will be final day working at the Julia Santen Vintage Poster Gallery on King Street here in Charleston. I've worked for Julia for about a year now and have seen some fantastic art pass through these doors. It's remarkable that these pieces have survived decades, and for some over a century, in the condition they are in.

Current vintage poster obsession:

I love the jewel tones of these vintage Bally posters which both date from 1964. The height of 1960s glamor... I mean a cheetah? Fabulous.

The Graduate

This has been one of my favorite films since I was about 12... I discovered this poster the other weekend while working at Julia Santen Gallery, she deals in extremely rare and vintage posters. The price isn't that bad... I just wish I had a wall for him.

I mean, what could get better than Dustin Hoffman and a hot pink leg?

Vintage Posters

This weekend I'm working at Julia Santen Gallery. She specializes in the highest quality vintage posters ranging from Art Nouveau to Contemporary. I never really saw myself as a fan of this genre of art... but continued exposure has awoken a desire for larger than life colorful prints of parrots toting bottles of alcohol and Warholian gays with bright red, curling tongues.

All images come from either Julia Santen Gallery or her blog
