Call the exterminator...

because unless they're metal, stone, painted, embroidered, or taxidermy, I don't want them.
However, these insects can make themselves right at home...

Petah Coyne

While digging through my piles of magazine articles I rip it out whenever I clean out my masses of magazines, I came back across images of Petah Coyne's sculptures. They're haunting and beautiful... and incorporate taxidermy peacocks, so of course I love them. The above image is the cover of the Yale University Press book on her work.

I just can't get enough...

 ... of taxidermied fauna.
I'm all for animal rights and everything... but I still don't mind wearing them or displaying them on my coffee table...

could these seriously be more amazing?

I want to mount him so he looks like he's crawling up the wall so badly...

... how could you ever get tired of looking at these?

adorable, but with just the right amount of evilness.

Fur

Fur... something I can't get enough of...
And it all started with this painting... the most bizarre part is the height at which it is hung in the National Gallery- such that you almost gaze directly into the eyes of the head of the bear skin rug.

Hollister and Porter's (from the phenomenal blog Hollister Hovey) living room...
absolutely amazing

Even the set decorators for Gone With the Wind had the right idea with this polar bear rug in Scarlet's boudoir... everything about this is to die for... especially those curtains

This room might be my favorite... perfection

Things I Need NOW

I love this antique harp case from Jayson Home & Garden an amazing online home store with the greatest new and vintage furniture...

and this awesome little black bird from 1st Dibs...

and I can't really imagine a more amazing mirror than this Fornasetti faux malachite and Greek key mirror...

if I can't have a live peacock, then I could definitely learn to be happy with this taxidermied one instead...

and I could always make room for a gilt serpent... especially when there are two in twined around a convex mirror...

and I still haven't recovered from Carolle Thibaut-Pomerantz's antique wallpapers... she had a similar grisaille panel in her WAS booth as this French 19th century panel made by J. Dufour that I found on this amazing blog.
