I discovered this Napoleon III canape while perusing 1stdibs... it's not usually what I go for, but I can't stop thinking about it. I want it in a room with either black or hot pink lacquered walls and an insane abstract painting above it. Unfortunately I don't have an extra $20,000 to spend right now... but when I do I'll definitely have to return to Antiques on Old Plank Road...
Wow I want this piece also. I love overdone ornate Napoleon III furniture. At one time I own two Napoleon III slipper chairs that would have matched this canape well. Although I would have upholstered this piece in a Ivory silk or red or lavender damask!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I love how over the top it is... Napoleon III is one of my favorite styles. The Opera Garnier in Paris is one of my all time favorite buildings... I'll be doing a post on that soon.
